How we got there

Decimals may be rounded to eight places; rupee amounts to two.

    A little understanding

Let’s make the numbers make sense.

    Four operations for everyday problems

Addition combines amounts. Subtraction finds a difference. Multiplication repeats a quantity. Division shares an amount into equal groups. If four notebooks cost ₹35 each, multiplication gives 4 × 35 = ₹140.

Choose an operation, enter two numbers, and calculate.

This tool calculates one operation at a time. Negative values and decimals are welcome. It displays up to eight decimal places, so recurring decimals such as 1 ÷ 3 are rounded.

Can I use decimals and negative numbers?

    Yes. For example, −5 + 2 = −3 and 2.5 × 4 = 10. Enter a full stop as the decimal separator.

Why is division by zero not allowed?

There is no finite number that can be multiplied by zero to produce a nonzero numerator. The expression 0 ÷ 0 is also undefined.

    Does this use BODMAS?

This tool performs only one selected operation on two numbers. It does not evaluate multi-operation expressions or brackets.
